I think it's really great that the library considers the students and other patrons responsible enough to allow food and drink in general. They may look like simple vending machines, but to me they convey non-verbally that the library wants us to be comfortable ("kick back and stay awhile!":) and feels that we respect our library and will behave appropriately and take care of our mutual space.
