I am seeing the SOAR "guides" walking with future students in the library and chatting with them to make them feel more welcomed and comfortable...which is very nice. BUT isn't this a LIBRARY and thier JOB is to "make them believe, at least for NOW" that like all other libraries we need to preserve silence and treat it as a Library and leave the chat to outside?????????????????????????? Isn't this giving the wrong message and extend the problem to 4 more years????????? I am graduating in December and noise concern is still an issue in Atkins Library!

ReplyDeleteVery interesting and extremely informative. It's nice to know what's going on in the minds of our students. I'm glad we asked!
